Send Me An Angel

This was a signature game if ever there was one. Paris Saint-Germain; so often found wanting in this premier Champions League competition; look like they mean business this time around with a stunning, all-encompassing 3-0 victory over the European masterminds themselves; Real Madrid.

Angel di Maria lit the touch-paper in this one with two finely-taken goals; both coming off superb one-two sequences involving their superb left-back Juan Bernat and the tigerish defensive midfielder Idrissa Gueye.

Paris were too much in this one; they were the more inspired, the more forceful, the more everything; as Real seemed strangely lethargic and could not muster a single shot on target. They had two goals VAR-ruled out for offside; but by and large they had too many off-form players in this one.

And witness the final goal in the 91st minute; the two marauding full-backs Thomas Meunier & Bernat found themselves bombing up-field; playing dilly dong-dilly with each other; before Meunier stroke home an impregnable third. When the two full-backs are playing one-two with each other in the final third in the 91st minute... it's game over my friend
