The Singapore Premier League (SPL) is well & truly underway; and tonight; the Lion City Sailors; the first-ever privatised club in the history of the league; will make its debut against another returnee club Tanjong Pagar United. It all makes for a rather romantic occasion.
Lion City Sailors; powered by Sea billionaire Forrest Li; have signed several key players in outstanding goalkeeper Hassan Sunny; talismanic midfielder Shahdan Suleiman and international winger Gabriel Quak; are rightly touted as one of the serious contenders for the Championship. And Tanjong Pagar; who were once one of the giants of the League; make their long-awaited comeback since 2014.
