For The Very First Time

The joy of finding a long-lost song is just pure ecstasy... those who know will know...

And so it was that I was reading an issue of Classic Pop when they touched on the power of commercial advertisements in the 1980s in bringing songs to the forefront of national consciousness and up the charts... and they were featuring the Coke classic 'I'd like to teach the world to sing' when I suddenly recalled another awesome Coke ad that has stayed in the memory since my younger years...

Being the research geek that I am; I hurriedly went to Google 'Coke ads' but like U2 I couldn't find what I was looking for... Slightly despondent; I continued reading the magazine and as fate would have it; further down the paragraph they stated exactly what I wanted: Robin Beck and that immortal anthem 'First Time'...

I immediately went to watch both the music video and the Coke ad that appeared in 1985... it was the perfect marriage of the hottest drink and the cool tune that embellishes in the mind forever... ensuring my love for both the drink and the song for all time...
