In this battle in the Mile High City between two NBA championship contenders; the Denver Nuggets came up with an offensive showpiece to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 114-104. The Clippers; trying to reverse their previous trend of starting slow off the blocks; actually started well this time and took the lead through the first quarter.
However, for the rest of the game; it would be the home Nuggets who dominated; going on a three-point barrage and exploiting fully their long, deep & athletic squad. In the end; the shared prowess of star center Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Gary Harris & Jerami Grant proved too much for the Clippers; who looked a tad slow and too turnover-prone on the night.
They may have gotten away with rousing comebacks in their two earlier games against New York & Golden State; but against these high-flying; championship-chasing Nuggets; there would be no way back; and even the great man Kawhi Leonard could not single-handedly save the day. With this win; the Nuggets move above the Clippers in the tightly-contested Western Conference.
