This book about former Liverpool legend Jason McAteer; 'Blood, Sweat & McAteer' is one of the best autobiographies I've ever read... it's just like the person himself: direct, funny and honest. He makes no bones about delicate issues: from his mental health to his wild escapades and the famous 'Roy Keane v Mick McCarthy' episode at the World Cup.
With searing honesty; he goes through topic through topic with relentless pace; never letting up with his unique world view and customary detail. You learn about his difficult journey to being a Premiership footballer; how he struggled and nearly never made the grade due to his wiry frame; and his journey from Bolton midfielder through to elite-level Liverpool right-back. A fascinating read.
