United Leave It Late

Manchester United made it through to the 4th Round of the Carabao Cup; albeit not with an entirely convincing performance against Championship high-fliers Luton Town. In the end; after having taking the lead through a penalty from Juan Mata after Brandon Williams was fouled by George Moncur (son of West Ham legend John Moncur); they rather laboured to seal the win; which was finally confirmed after late goals from substitutes Marcus Rashford & Mason Greenwood.

Some other interesting points to note: Luton Town are no longer using the 'infamous' plastic pitch lol; which was omni-present in the 80s and made every team shiver in fear at visiting unpredictable Kenilworth Road. Also; Kazenga LuaLua was starting on the left-wing for Luton; the brother of Lomana Tresor LuaLua; the ex-Newcastle legend. There was also a substitute appearance for Elliot Lee; son of another ex-Newcastle legend Robert Lee.

Credit also goes to United debutant Dean Henderson; who made a stupendous save to deny Luton centre-back Tom Lockyer when the score was still delicately poised at 1-0; with the defender's follow-up attempt excellently blocked by the impressive Eric Bailly. It was an overall decisive moment of the match that ended up with the scoreline in a comfortable margin for United.
