United Kena Martial Law

Anthony Martial missed a glorious open-goal chance to put Manchester United ahead with the tie poised delicately at 1-1. It was to be the defining moment of the match; as Paris Saint-Germain eventually ran out 3-1 winners in a combustible UEFA Champions League tie at Old Trafford.

Fred was in the centre of attention; as his fist-half head-butt on Leandro Paredes was rightly judged only a yellow-card offence; however, it is debatable if Ole Gunnar Solksjaer should have taken him off with the red mist swirling. In the end; just moments after Marquinhos had restored PSG's lead; the frustrated Brazilian lunged for a loose ball with Andres Herrera and got that dreaded second.

After Martial's miss; United had another good chance; when Edinson Cavani's lovely chip hit the crossbar. The rebound was well turned by Bruno Fernandes into the path of Martial; but his shot was well blocked by Marquinhos. PSG had their chances too in an entertaining affair; with Marco Verratti back in dominating mood and Kylian Mbappe turning on the speed on numerous occasions.

With both teams seemingly desperate to win; the match also saw many fisticuffs; with Neymar in particular getting into a running battle with Fred & Scott McTominay all night long. When the dust had settled; PSG had a vital away victory; meaning this group goes right down to the wire in the final matchday.
