Five For Fighting

Liverpool produced a five-star masterclass to ruin Claudio Ranieri's first match as Watford manager; with a 5-0 victory at Vicarage Road that will leave the purists purring.

Jurgen Klopp's championship-chasing men took control from first whistle till last; book-ended by classy displays all over the pitch and their front three scoring all the goals; with a Roberto Firmino hat-trick and an exceptional goal from Mohamed Salah.

Salah; already in the form of his life; followed up his worldie against Manchester City with a similar one; bamboozling the Watford defence with some deft close control in the penalty area; before leaving Craig Cathcart on his backside and stroking home with his famous left.

Perhaps Watford's problems were best exemplified by their left-back Danny Rose; previously one of the best left-backs in the world at Tottenham Hotspur; now left overweight; slow & unwanted in his costly foraging of Salah down the Watford left.
