Filled with hit after hit of their ever-expanding catalogue; a-ha took the breath away; with this concert that was simply perfect from start to finish. It was a testament to their greatness; that some of the best songs on this concert were their slightly less-heralded ones; such as 'Thought That It Was You'; 'I Wish I Cared' and 'You'll Never Get Over Me'; aided & abetted by the soaring vocals of Simone Larsen.
And once the opening synthesizer riffs of 'The Sun Always Shines On T.V.' came out in the closing phase; it was all over. By that point; the crowd was almost reduced to tears; seemingly unable to watch any more. And that was even before they went into; in Morten Harket's words; one of the "cornerstones" of their career; the seminal 'Hunting High & Low' that is as soulful as you want.
And all that was before they did the much-anticipated encore; and their crowd-pleaser; the moving 'Crying In The Rain'; originally done by The Everly Brothers. And that was before they launched into their biggest hit 'Take On Me' as the concert closer; when the crowd seemed to be transported to another universe itself. It was that kind of a concert.
