Having got back on the winning track against the San Antonio Spurs in their previous match; the Los Angeles Clippers would have been confident of extending their winning sequence against the erstwhile 7-7 Memphis Grizzlies.
In case they did not know however; the Grizzlies are proving to be an excellent team; young & athletic; with a propensity for offensive rebounds and points in the paint. All that was to be on show today; as their outstanding third-year man Ja Morant produced another explosive performance; torching the Clippers with his inside drives and overall athleticism.
The Clippers seemed to be stunned by this particularly tricky opponent; and though they tried their best to retaliate; it was too little, too late; as the Grizzlies managed to end this contest way before the final buzzer. Their length is another problem; with 6'11" power-forward Jaren Jackson Jr. and the hulking Steven Adams posing a threat down the middle.
