Three Strikes Not Out

Richarlison is a player famed for his persistence. Time & time again in Everton's harrowing season; he has been like the lone bull upfront; charging in to everything whether it hurts or not; diving into tackles; and seemingly hurtling into outer space whenever he could.

Thus; it was quite appropriate that he was the man who saved Everton in the 92nd minute; just when it seemed another big dagger had gone in the coffin in the beleaguered club's increasingly-harrowing relegation adventure. He had missed two glorious chances early on; both contenders for miss of the season; the first a startling miss on an open goal and the second a free header from a corner. His persistence paid off though; as his scuffed shot in the dying embers of the game squirmed into the side netting to send the Goodison crowd into raptures.

Leicester City; going through a good run especially in the UEFA Europa Conference League; might feel they should have wrapped it up way before. After Harvey Barnes' early goal; they had further chances to seal the game through James Maddison and Wesley Fofana; and were overall inspired by their neat structured play and the form of their young starlet Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. In the end though; Everton would gladly take a point ahead of their next match: the Merseyside Derby.
