I've always been following him. From defensive specialist at San Antonio; he has morphed into an all-out offensive threat; fueled by the stunning NBA championship win at Toronto Raptors and now lo & behold; landing in my favourite Los Angeles Clippers team with James Harden.
The Clippers did not start well; ending up with a dismal 6-21 record that no one expected; especially as they were considered one of the dark horses for the title. But like the proverbial phoenix out of the ashes; Leonard has suddenly woken up to take the league by storm.
Witness his 55-point outburst against the league's surprise team Detroit Pistons; and further 40-point performances as the Clippers went on a 6-game win streak; and suddenly their season looks rather promising again. His ability has always been there; but a litany of injuries and continuity issues had taken their toll over the last few years. Now we are finally seeing the best of Kawhi again; and maybe also for the Clippers.
