Not sure if any of you English Premier League (EPL) watchers have noticed, but recently what caught my eye was a female assistant referee running the lines at a few of the matches, most recently this morning's Capital One Cup semi-final first leg tie between Bradford City and Aston Villa (that I tried to watch but ended up sleeping on my sofa).
What's interesting is that in the rough-and-tumble world of Premiership football, to see a young (27 years old), slim girl in a pony-tail running up and down the flanks is quite a unique sight indeed. I just hope the players remember she's a girl and don't start spewing vulgarities at her. So far, from what I see, she does a good job as an assistant referee. Now here's a lady who definitely knows the offside rule.
