Xi-Li Really

I think there is hope that the Xi Jinping-Li Keqiang axis for China could finally be the catalyst to take China to greater heights. The Hu Jintao-Wen Jiabao combination was pretty decent, but the lack of cohesion between them meant that they could never quite fulfil what they intended to do in terms of taking care of corruption, spreading wealth and social parity, and streamlining bureaucratic procedures.

These remain the same key goals for the Xi-Li partnership, but I think for the first time in a long time, there is genuine hope that actions taken will stretch beyond the beauty of rhetoric. Plans are there to be unleashed, commitment is there already fanned, but the missing link so far has been the vital and perhaps under-rated chemistry between the President and Premier. Until now. Xi and Li have done well in asserting their priorities right on these areas, their commitment is there, and it looks like they are working well together.
