So to wrap up my 3-day, 2-night tour of Kuantan, Pahang, I've got the following take-aways: I got to see how my girlfriend Clarins spent some of her childhood days in - the environment, the activities; I got to see her many, many relatives, of which all are friendly and most are tall, which explains her 1.68m and Alexander's 1.91m.
I got to see the rustic, laid-back and friendly charm of Kuantan, including its nice hawker-centre food such as yong tau foo noodles, ketchup noodles and prawn noodles, as well as their night-time, zi char-style restaurants that are kinda similar to Singapore's. I also visited their beach, which is surprisingly clean and boasts clear waters and pristine beaches. The people in Kuantan are generally unpretentious and nice, with a rather even mix of Malays and Chinese.
I got to stay at a 'house-hostel' for the first time on a holiday, and generally it was nice and pleasurable; with a huge room accomodating the five of us. Even though we shared just a single in-room toilet, it was enough as I realised all of us are super-quick bathers and don't waste time messing around in the bathroom. I also managed to finish the McFly book over this holiday, and I must say it was overall an awesome book and one of the best autobiographies I have had the joy to read. That's also why I was determined to finish the entire book over this holiday. Must watch them 'live' in concert if they ever come to Singapore. I also enjoyed an Everton home BPL win over Stoke City, even though I couldn't watch it on TV. And I enjoyed the overall experience of my first-ever budget flight. :-)
