Writing's On The Wall

I don't think there has ever been an autobiography in the world launched with so much fanfare. And so much venom.... yes, that's Venom alright. Retired Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has just launched his brand new biopic, spectacularly titled 'My Autobiography'. Now Ferguson has had umpteen biographies written about him in his long and distinguished career, but this I believe is only his second autobiography, and the most anticipated one. And we can hardly wait, can we?

I must say I've got two of his earlier biopics.... there're just so many of him that look good that I just had to get a couple, but I haven't read them yet. Then again, there're like 133 books I have that I haven't read yet. They're all neatly displayed in my cupboard though.

This is the very first time I've seen the release of an autobiography that results in some joker (meaning Mark Bosnich) wanting to have a MEETING with the writer! Because he's not happy with some things Alex Ferguson said about him in the book, and he wants to meet him FACE-TO-FACE. What the hell! Get real!! This is a book, God Damn It.... and you want to meet him and what, talk crap and start killing each other? Quite funny, I must say. I wonder if Alex Ferguson is quaking in his boots, but for some reason, I don't think so. I mean, Ferguson can say what he wants.... if Bosnich wants, he can always write his own book and call Alex Ferguson the fuckin' son of the Devil and all that......

What happens is Alex Ferguson has been rather 'frank' (to put it nicely) in his description of Bosnich (his former goalkeeper at Man United back in 1999); calling him something like a terrible professional and he turned up for his very first training session 3 hours late and overweight. Now, if you turn up for your first training session 3 hours late, you deserve to be screwed, don't you? Btw, Bosnich went on to have a poor career at Man United. He was touted at that time as one of the best 'keepers in the business, but unfortunately, things didn't turn out well for him at United and his performances were rather sub-par.

Another funny thing is that Australian Bosnich has backed ex-Man Utd legend and mad firebrand Roy Keane to also stand up against Ferguson. I think it must have really shocked the world that Ferguson launched a scathing tirade in his book against Keane as well, calling him having the savagest tongue of all and calling him an extremely difficult player to work with, including how he bad-mouthed many of his fellow team-mates in a notorious interview. It is shocking because there was never much sign of tension between those two when they were working in the same club, and Keane is one of the LEGENDS at Man Utd; an energetic, inspirational midfielder that everyone looked up to.

I love autobiographies; I must have like 702 in my cabinet.... I collect them all from Fowler, to Vieira, to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink to Steve Claridge?! (U get the drift) I've gleed and laughed through many of them, reading how some of them absolutely tear fellow players and opponents apart, calling them shit-holes and all sorts of funny stuff. It's so frank, it's loveable sometimes. My all-time favourite remains Patrick Vieira absolutely shit-housing fierce rival Ruud van Nistelrooy, calling him the son of the bitch, an absolute asshole and other loveable language. That was really funny. He said everyone thinks van Nistelrooy is a really nice guy, but actually he is a total fucker. Really good stuff. But this is the first time I've actually heard someone (read Mark Bosnich) want to have a FACE-TO-FACE meeting with the writer after reading the book. I hope they don't kill each other. Quite hilarious.
