Make no mistake: the LA Clippers have transformed from being the hunter to the hunted. Just like Michael Jordan & the Chicago Bulls; every team now brings their A-game when they meet them; dying; reveling to knock them off their perch and make headlines all round the world. The Suns rose in Phoenix in the previous game; knocking down 17 three-pointers in an aerial barrage that knocked the erstwhile-comfy Clippers back down to Earth.
Well Doc Rivers' men came back strong in this one: tightening up their defense in the second half to almost insidiously break a tight game with the Charlotte Hornets open. Kawhi Leonard was the Human Highlight Film in this one; witness his unconventional off-the-bum left-hand scoop in one sequence; soaring and getting his dunk blocked but still scoring off a fast-break; and a supreme left-hand block on Hornets center Cody Zeller on yet another play...
As usual, he got big help from his bench... with Sixth Man of the Year Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell once again combining for big minutes and production off the bench... the Hornets; led by 'hottest player on the planet' Devonte' Graham; did start off strong... but it was too much Clippers in the end
Next up... a meeting at fellow Western powerhouse Utah... I'm already licking my chops at that one
