To be the best... u got to beat the best. And that's what the Los Angeles Clippers did in this one; ousting the defending NBA champions Toronto Raptors 98-88 in a defensive-minded slug-fest. The Raptors were under-strength - missing two key players in Karl Lowry and Serge Ibaka; but man they are playing impressively this season (as their record attests); and so they did again in this one...
Kawhi Leonard struggled the entire game; faced with a swarming double-team on literally every possession; as the Raptors' game plan was pretty obvious; to contain their previous star player by hook or by crook. In the end, Leonard's sheer determination and eye for a pass proved the difference; as he found Maurice Harkless and Montrezl Harrell for big baskets down the stretch.
