Ip Man 4 was everything we expected: a proper, grand finale for one of the best movie franchises of all-time. Seriously, each of the 4 movies is a must-watch; each gets better every-time; and a must-keep collection on DVD.
This time traces the latter stages of his life; after his wife has passed away and he is suffering from cancer; to how he stands up against the American perpetrators who look down on Chinese gong-fu; all the way to his death.
And it is marked by the usual heroic interventions of the Grand-Master himself; filled with poignant moments that left me in tears a few times. It is also a show that teaches good principles: about how to stand up to one's principles; and how parents should treat their children and vice versa. Overall, an excellent finale to an excellent movie.
