Unfortunately, the negative reviews about this movie 'Like A Boss' is not without its belief; as Tiffany Haddish and Rose Byrne try rather unsuccessfully to lift this rather desperate comedic effort.
The plot is rather applaudable: two childhood friends live their dream of setting up their own cosmetics company; but true to form they hit hurdles in their professional conquest; and the company faces mounting debts. With disparate personalities; the friends have differing opinions on how to rescue their beleaguered company; and through arguments and quarrels; they end up splitting and ruining the friendship.
But in the end; friendship and common sense prevails; as they re-find the good in each other and join forces to wrest back control of their company from a devious media titan; played by the always-interesting Salma Hayek.
Much as the plot is decent; the movie unfortunately fails to exploit its feel-good quality; with the story-line rather mundane and jokes rather ineffectual. It could have been made into a great movie; but unfortunately doesn't quite live up to expectation.
