After so long; I may have finally found a favourite female tennis player after Steffi Graf; new Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin. It may be her cute, pixie-like walk and demeanour; her luminous green/blue Fila outfit that seems tailor-made for her; or her unique service motion where she actually is till looking at the line as she throws the ball up; seemingly giving her added focus and power on the swing-through.
But what's for sure is she is a damn good tennis player. A former child prodigy; she has now hit the bright lights at the ripe old age of 21. Hers is not really a power game; more of an intelligent all-court game; better at the backhand than forehand. But her greatest attribute could be her ice-cold nerve and strong resilience; which she showed in this Australian Open final comeback against a favoured Garbine Muguruza.
