Well done to the Gold 90.5 FM caller who persevered through and won the S$10,000 prize for naming a list of celebrities correctly; including of course; the much talked-about Tony Hadley; lead singer of Spandau Ballet. I guess I do agree with the critics' opinion that the contest is not a pronunciation contest; thus the contestant's pronunciation ability shouldn't be in question; the station could have asked him to spell out the name to be sure. And there're also some names that are just a bit difficult to pronounce; such as 'Belinda Carlisle'.
Anyways; the big thing for me out of all this is you can just locate any singer online (like what the contestant did) and send an e-mail to them. His management will then replay and you will get a personal video of Tony Hadley himself saying that his name was pronounced exactly correctly. What a great gesture by the man himself. He has just gone further upwards in my estimation.
