Greek Tragedy

For a celebration like no other; look no further than the Europa League Round-of-32 2nd leg match between Arsenal & Olympiakos. The drama was like no other as Arsenal; heavily favoured after their 1-0 win in Greece; somehow faced mayhem as they were forced into extra-time after losing 1-0 to the Greek side after 90 minutes. In extra-time; it was tension all-round as a stunned Emirates Stadium looked on praying for the best. And their dreams seemed to be answered as their star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang fired them ahead with a spectacular bicycle-kick in the 113th minute after a typically incisive cross from Mesut Ozil.

But the drama was only getting started; as in the 119th minute; Youssef El Arabi swept home Giorgos Masouras' tantalising cross form the right to send the away fans into raptures. And the drama was still not over yet; as almost immediately after; some mis-cued defending in the Olympiacos box found Aubameyang with a gilt-edged opportunity to win the tie; but alas; he somehow blazed it wide. At the end; the Olympiakos players & fans celebrated like they had won the World Cup. And well they might have.
