Nice feature on The Straits Times about Britney Spears today... covering 10 of her defining songs throughout her history. It has been 21 years since she broke out into the pop wilderness with '...Baby One More Time'... that catchy hit that launcher her into stardom...

Before we knew it; she released 'Oops I Did It Again'... another song that well-suited the catchiness and pop spirit of that generation. But it was the song 'Lucky' that I really liked and which I felt came at the peak of her powers... with the faster-paced 'Everytime' & 'I Wanna Go' amongst my other favourites as well.

Now at age 38; it's safe to say she is well past the peak of her powers and is hardly heard from anymore; with her earlier 'ill-fated' relationships wth Justin Timberlake & Keven Federline seemingly taking their toll. It seemed like there was no other way for her: someone thrust into the spotlight; made famous at such a young age; how else would she be able to react?
