The Speed of Fun

Sonic: The Hedgehog is an excellent film; surprising in its fun; story-line & engagement. It is patterned after the world-famous SEGA video-game and pairs Sonic with local police officer Tom Wachowski (an amiable James Marsden) and how they plot to escape the clutches of one mad scientist Dr. Robotnik (played excellently by Jim Carrey).

Through their adventures and travails across the world; they both learn to adapt and learn from one another; and in the end; the show centers on how an 'alien' like Sonic still hopes for friendship & camaraderie with humans on Planet Earth. His legendary speed is captured beautifully in bar-brawl sequences; with his cute demeanor and childish instincts proving a lovable hit.
