Chelsea Battle Back

Chelsea came back strong in the second half to beat relegation-threatened Aston Villa 2-1 at Villa Park. They dominated the first half but somehow went into the break down a goal thanks to Kortney Hause's follow-up attempt after a great cross in from the right by Douglas Luiz.

The substitution of Christian Pulisic for an off-kelter Ruben Loftus-Cheek sparked the comeback though; with the American getting on the end of Cesar Azpilicueta's inviting cross to level things up; before Olivier Giroud fired the winner from another Azpilicueta cut-back; via an unfortunate deflection off Conor Hourihane.

Chelsea looked good value for their win; with their players looking sharp & incisive; and they look in control for that final coveted Champions League spot. For Villa though; their fight for relegation is still very much in the balance.
