The Foden Generation

It is seldom you actually root for a player of a rival club; but with the exciting development of Phil Foden; you maybe have to. We saw him from wide-eyed teenager; to what he is today; a precocious talent bursting onto the scene; and primed to take over from David Silva; one of the greatest players the Premier League has ever seen.

When we saw the likes of cash-rich Manchester City buying players from everywhere; with the likes of Ilkay Gundogan; Leroy Sane and Kevin de Bruyne arriving; you wondered how on earth Foden would be given a chance. Would they even spare a thought for this youngster coming through the academy?

Well yes he has; from playing bit-parts to slowly featuring in the cup games and more and more in the starting eleven; Foden is now primed and ready. And never has that been more evident than the first two games since the corona lockdown; when he has basically dominated the game and scored three goals while assisting others.

The way is now clear for him to establish himself as one of the big young things in world football; joining the likes of Jadon Sancho & Kai Havertz. Things are also looking bright on the England scene; with him potentially joining the likes of James Maddison & Jack Grealish to take England to new heights.
