There are some comedic fictional moments: such as how a bomb blast on the celebrations ship by an oddly-pessimistic Icelandic bank governor basically put paid to Iceland's participants and ensured that Fire Saga somehow got their ticket to the contest in Scotland.
Against the bane of technical difficulties; stage disasters and supposed love dalliances of the band members; the two somehow come together to realise their dream; and while they purposely did not win; they found something even more fulfilling; their love for each other.
