Vanguard is the latest blockbuster starring Jackie Chan; and as his age is catching up; it is unfortunately the latest example of how his once-terrific & gravity-defying skills have diminished; to the point that he now engages only sparingly in the usual fisticuffs and has almost turned more to comedy as a mitigating effect.
This show does have some nice scenery from the glitzy shopping centers of Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE); a fast-paced storyline; and some decent acting from the protagonists Yang Yang and Jolin Tsai look-alike Miya Muqi. However; just like its main star; it fails to fully pack a punch and turns out just decidedly-average.
