Seventh Heaven

Everton recorded their seventh successive win to start the season; recording a highly-impressive 4-2 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion at Goodison Park to surge to the top of the league.

After another towering header from Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Gylfi Sigurdsson's fine left-wing cross; it was another mistake from Jordan Pickford that allowed Neal Maupay to equalise for the visitors. Almost immediately though; Everton went back in front after Yerry Mina headed home another fine free-kick from James Rodriguez.

And it was the Rodriguez show again in the second half; as he scored twice more from an identical position; one with this left & one with his right; after further slick passing moves involving Alex Iwobi & Abdoulaye Doucoure down the left.

It was at times purely sensational stuff from Everton; who are playing so well they almost resemble the all-conquering team of 1984-85... with a perfect record of four straight wins; they surge to the top of the league and are looking really dangerous at the moment.
