One, Two, Three: Bamford!

With an intoxicating blend of relentless pressing; dynamite counter-attacking & ingenious one-twos; Leeds United put paid to the only remaining perfect record in the Premiership with a stunning 3-0 demolition job on Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Patrick Bamford had already gone close on multiple occasions; when his second half hat-trick show began to take shape. First; the inspirational Jack Harrison found an incisive ball for Rodrigo to pounce on; his shot was saved by Emiliano Martinez; only for Bamford to score from the rebound.

His second was a sumptuous finish from outside the penalty area; while his third was another fine piece of individual skill after being surrounded by no less than four Villa defenders. Villa did not play all that badly; and Jack Grealish in fact had two chances to score with the scores still level; the first brilliantly cleared off the line by Luke Ayling; and the second well saved by Ilhan Meslier after a mesmerizing run.

For Leeds; their impressive pressing had hounded Villa into submission; with their constant overloading of the flanks turning up numerous opportunities. They now rise to a scary third in the table; with the whole world now knowing that Marcelo Bielsa's men are really no joke.
