Liverpool had one that got away; as Andrew Robertson conceded a controversially-awarded penalty in the final moments of this encounter at the American Express Community Stadium against Brighton & Hove Albion; which was tucked away coolly by Pascal Gross.
The match looked well done and dusted with; as Diogo Jota's goal was accompanied by disallowed efforts from Mohamed Salah & substitute Sadio Mane; as Liverpool looked to win even without being at their best; and Brighton saw yet another 'heroic effort' go up in waste.
They even missed an earlier penalty awarded for a Neco Williams challenge on Aaron Connolly; but star striker Neal Maupay uncharacteristically missed from the spot with Alisson beaten. Jordan Henderson came on in the second half for Williams and did help to restore Liverpool's propensity in this match. And it was all going well for them until the late VAR intervention.
