I Saw Red

Everton put in another under-whelming display to fall 1-3 to Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's Manchester United in the early kick-off at Goodison Park; as their early-season rampaging form seems now to be more of a distant memory...

Since the Merseyside Derby; the energy; movement & intensity from Everton seems to be gone liao; as encapsulated in this third consecutive defeat. It all started pretty well though; as Brazilian winger Bernard put them in front after latching onto a fine flick-on from Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Mason Holgate & Seamus Coleman; both just back from injury; looked pretty rusty though; and the defence allowed the United attackers too much time and space; leading to a brace of goals from Bruno Fernandes; who managed to head home and finish with an innocuous-looking cross.

Everton did play better in the second half; but the creativity and chances were still few & far between; until the final stages when Abdoulaye Doucoure contrived to miss two decent chances with some poor finishing. In the end; it was left to the imperious Fernandes; who rocked up on a counter-attack and found substitute Edinson Cavani to finish for United's third and end the contest.
