Son Heung-Min was rightly recognised with the Ferenc Puskas Award 2020; given to the best goal in the world; for his incredible; lung-bursting run past the entire Burnley defence to score in their 5-0 win back in Dec 19.
It was a goal that brought back memories of Diego Maradona's 'greatest goal ever'; that slaloming; magical run past the England defence in the quarter-final of the 1986 World Cup; and well it should; with Son picking up the ball deep in his own half before embarking on an amazing; lung-bursting run that showcased his pace; persistence & clinical finishing.
It was proper recognition for Son; who is one of the hottest players at the moment; with his telepathic partnership with Harry Kane taking Spurs to new heights; and who is now widely recognised as the greatest player in Asia and one of the finest in the world itself.
