West Ham United defensive midfielder Declan Rice is a man on the upz... from young Academy prospect he has steadily risen through the ranks to promising player and now legit enforcer in West Ham's Champions League-chasing 4-2-3-1 formation... which allows him to 'occupy his territory' and do what he does best. Even better; he has formed a fearsome partnership with Czech Republic superstar Tomas Soucek and they are one of the main reasons why West Ham are such a promising team these days. He is even shining on the international stage; being one of England's brightest performers at the recent Euro 2020.
It is thus no surprise that big guns Chelsea have taken a big close look at him... as part of their continued dominance in the transfer market; and of course he started off at Chelsea's academy himself; in a big swing of things. Previous manager Frank Lampard had admitted as much; indicating that they never actually thought he would progress to this level; thus explaining why they let him go in the first place.
