As Bob Dylan may say; the Times they are a'changin' here in the English Premier League; and no more so than at Newcastle United. The newly-backed Saudi team; who were seemingly dead & buried just a few weeks ago; are now come roaring back to life and are looking a different proposition indeed.
Their latest revival came at West Ham United; themselves seeking to establish their top-four credentials. After Craig Dawson had headed them into the lead; previous Newcastle sides would have bowed down and buried. Not this one though. Eddie Howe's side are made of sterner stuff these days; and they continued to ply and parry until Joe Willock's mesmerizing equaliser right at the stroke of half-time.
The team is playing so well that even their new star signing; Brazilian legend Bruno Guimaraes; cannot even get a place in the side; such has been the effectiveness of Jonjo Shelvey; Willock and a rejuvenated Joelinton; who has found a new lease of life in a deeper midfield role. Their new signings Matt Targett; the gritty Dan Burn and the willing striker Chris Wood; have certainly added new-found impetus in the team; and they now look capable of staying on in the division.
