The storyline itself is pretty cool; with Gru a fanboy of the evil group called the Vicious 6; and finding the chance of a lifetime when he is given an interview to take over from their ousted leader Wild Knuckles. As expected; the interview does not go well; and a disillusioned Gru decides to take his own revenge by stealing the precious Asian Stone that grants superpowers.
Before we know it; Gru is targeted by all sides; Wild Knuckles himself who tries to get back his stolen property; and the Vicious 6 who are enraged by Gru's brash steal under their noses. Cue a hilarious journey to San Francisco; a lot of help from the fellow Minions and a gong-fu brandishing auntie; and some help from the old leader himself; and this is indeed one pretty enjoyable ride.
