Everton for their part; must have surprised them with how confident and determined they were. In front of a disbelieving audience they stole the lead through an excellent finish from Anthony Gordon; as the long diagonals from Conor Coady & James Tarkowski were finding their mark.
But in the end; the somewhat relentless pressure from the home side paid off; as substitute Vitaly Janelt saved the day by prodding home after an excellent flick-on from another substitute Keane Lewis-Potter. At the end of the day; both managers would be rather relieved with this one. A point at Brentford is certainly a huge achievement for Frank Lampard's side these days; while Thomas Frank will be relieved that their torrid afternoon finally had an outcome.
