Too Shai

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander; pretty quiet throughout the first three quarters; exploded into life with the final shot; hitting a long three-pointer to seal a dramatic last-ditch win for the Oklahoma City Thunder; who were playing the much-fancied Los Angeles Clippers team. It was a smart move for Gilgeous-Alexander; who shaped to go for the drive before stepping back to gain the space he needed; before shooting over Nicolas Batum; not exactly the worst defender in the world.

It was also poetic justice for the Thunder; who just nights earlier had seen a similar last-ditch effort from Gilgeous-Alexander; only to be topped by Devonte Graham's even better 60-foot heave right at the byzzer for the New Orleans Pelicans.

It was a shot worthy of deciding this thrilling contest; as the Thunder defied their lowly record to go toe-to-toe with the higher-ranked Clippers; with Luguentz Dort playing the game of his life with 29 points; and the lean-limbed Aleksej Pokusevski coming up with double digits as well.

For the Clippers; they did put up a good effort; with Luke Kennard going mental from long-range with 27 points. But after playing against the league-leading Phoenix Suns & Utah Jazz in the last 2 games; this was one they would feel had gotten away.
