Just when it looked like Everton were in the ascendancy though; it was Fulham who came out of the second half looking the more hungrier & likelier of the two. Before Everton had realised it; they were stunned by Harry Wilson's fine finish after Willian had cut back the ball audaciously. With the scoreline & confidence down; Everton never looked like coming back into it; and it was not a great surprise when the effervescent Daniel James capitalised on another Everton mix-up to stroke home the third.
After a decent run under Sean Dyche; Everton seem to have regressed back to the dire; dispiriting football of the early dark ages; when they seem short of creativity up-front and the gumption to win the loose balls. They are now right back in the thick of relegation battle; with every game now a seeming do-or-die finish. For Fulham; they look energetic as ever under Marco Silva; and even without the inspirational Aleksandar Mitrovic; they look well up for the fight.
