And this is what seemingly makes the Clippers the front-runner to win the NBA championship this season; or does it? Their long-running saga has seen the revolving door of Montrezl Harrell; Patrick Beverley; Reggie Jackson & John Wall; and they are still no closer to reaching the Promised Land. Will Harden be the final piece in the jigsaw? The reigning assist champion in the league is a paradox in itself and some still consider him a 'solo king'. His rather 'strange' game & behaviour led to multiple disputes and in the end a rather acrimonious departure from the Sixers; who are probably better off without him.
The Clippers had to give up a lot to get him; notably defensive specialist Nicolas Batum; grizzled veteran Marcus Morris Snr and Robert Covington; but having gotten Harden along with the savvy PJ Tucker; I would say the Clippers still got a great deal out of it.
