What I liked about the show was how it delved into the details of Beckham's past; from impossible-to-obtain footage of him playing as a 7-year-old kid (with his trademark runs) and that emotional footage of him practising corner kicks relentlessly at a young age; leading to his greatest moment when that two corners won the UEFA Champions League Final against Bayern Munich; which nearly brought tears to the eyes.
What the show does not do so well though; is the negative part of Beckham's life; especially the Rebecca Loos affair which threatened to put a spanner in the works. In fact; it is not so much covered as glossed over; with no particular explanation of how it happened; and in fact Loos' name is not even mentioned at all.
Overall; it is an excellent documentary with suitable coverage of Victoria Beckham; especially the 1998 World Cup episode where he was sent off against Diego Simeone and faced the wrath of English fans in every ground. Another interesting point is his admiration of Glenn Hoddle; and how that same idol came back to bite him when he left him out of the 1998 World Cup starting line-up and refused to support him.
