It Ends Tonight

The scene is all set for another mind-boggling finish to the Premier League; but what are the greatest Premier League finishes ever? One can cast your mind back to 1995; when Blackburn Rovers created an upset of sorts in pipping Manchester United to the title. Ludek Miklosko was the toast of the town as he made several incredible saves (notably one from Andy Cole) as United somehow failed to beat West Ham at Upton Park. You could say Blackburn were under pressure for that final game; losing their usual composure in that 2-1 defeat at Anfield.

The same thing was to afflict Manchester City a few years back; when they somehow found themselves 0-2 down at home against Aston Villa. Roared back by an inspired Kevin de Bruyne; they managed to turn the tables when talismanic captain Ilkay Gundogan came on to score two in the dying minutes to pip Liverpool to the title.

But surely the greatest Premier League finish of all time came in 2011-12; when Anton Ferdinand did that improbable flick to end up with Sergio Aguero powering through to score the winner against lowly Queens Park Rangers 3-2 and pip the title from Manchester United (again). The sight of Joe Hart & Roberto Mancini running around was enough a bring a tear to your eye. Of course; the Singapore TV also spoil; adding to the drama lol
