With Shazza performing 'Home' and even Iman Fandi performing as part of the pre-match festivities; the match certainly had an air of celebration about it; and Singapore played its part with a customary victory to ensure it finished top of Group C with an unbeaten record. It was right-winger Harhys Stewart who did the honors; steering home a pot-shot after the ball had broken neatly to him after Glenn Kweh's initial shot was parried by the Bangladesh custodian Mitul Marma.
Bangladesh; featuring Leicester City superstar Hamza Choudhury in their side; started a bit timid but grew into it as the match went on; and were actually the more dominant side in the second half. They had chances to equalize; notably when Safuwan Baharudin was forced to clear off his line in the first half; and their best chance came in the 79th minute; when substitute Mirajul Islam hit the post after latching on to Choudhury's cross.
