Deck The Dewsbury-Hall

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall saved the day for Everton; rattling in an improbable 91st-minute equalizer at the end of a pulsating 2-2 draw with fellow high-flyers Brentford in the English Premier League.

It had all started so badly for Everton; as an innocuous long ball from Brentford somehow found its way to an advancing Kevin Schade; who was tripped by Jordan Pickford as he bore down on the Everton goal. Igor Thiago; now just behind Erling Haaland with 21 goals for the Golden Boot; rifled in an unstoppable penalty to put the Bees in front.

Everton are made of stern stuff these days though; and after some sustained pressure; it was main striker Beto who nodded them level after being picked up well by Idrissa Gueye's flighted cross.

Brentford came out energised for the second half though; and after their period of sustained pressure; it was Thiago again who put them back up after he rather fortuitously deflected in Michael Kayode's toe-poke shot. Things looked doomed for the visitors; until Dewsbury-Hall's late heroics rescued the day; and ensured both teams are still on course for European qualification.
