Everton somehow managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, after succumbing to a last-gasp 2-1 defeat to struggling Norwich City. David Moyes was rightly bitter after the game, claiming that if Everton had any pretensions of finishing in the top four, then they could not afford to lose this type of game. The first half had looked bright enough for them as they looked marginally on top, and Leon Osman headed home from a typical left-wing build-up and cross from Leighton Baines, six minutes before the break.
The substitution of on-loan Kei Kamara for the largely-ineffective Luciano Becchio proved the catalyst that chnaged the game. Active almost immediately with his movement and power, Kamara caused problems for the Everton defence, and duly headed home the equaliser six minutes from time from Robert Snodgrass' left-wing corner.
If any team was going to win it at this point, it was gonna be Norwich City. After some last-ditch defending, Everton appeared to have rode the storm for a draw, but in the fifth minute of injury-time, the home side's pressure paid off. A drafted ball to the far post by Russell Martin was knocked on by Sebastien Bassong for Grant Holt to knock into the roof of the net.
