The Fun Starts Now

Hello everyone, just to share that I have taken part in the My Paper Executive: Corporate Square-Off 2013 competition and have made it to the Grand Finals (final 16, 8 boys & 8 girls). Basically, this is a nation-wide competition organised by Singapore Press Holdings' My Paper to search for the ideal Executive in Singapore. As the official Facebook site for this event has just been launched, we are now open to talk and blog about it! It's no-holds barred stuff!! LOL

I actually saw the advertisement for this competition in the Straits Times one day and decided to take part to test myself and for the fun of it. One of my colleagues had previously urged me to join such competitions and I did think I would have a chance to do well in it; thus I decided to take part.

After submitting my application online, I was pleased to receive the call a few days later that I had been selected for the closed-door audition on 23 Feb 13 (Sat). I later learned that out of about 600 applications, 100 contestants were chosen to go for the audition.

The audition was pretty interesting as it was the first time I had gone for such stuff. We were each given 90 seconds to present ourselves to the judges, basically about anything we want. Pressure!!! Also, the stage presentation was faced such that all the other contestants could see what we were doing! It was quite a surprising kind of audition-style as I expected it to be more like a conventional interview. Anyways, fortunately I was one of the later turns so I had some time to think about it. In order to make a deep impression, I decided to go for broke and sing one of my favourite songs, Tokyo Square's 'Within You'll Remain' as part of my on-stage presentation.

Thankfully, it all worked out fine and to my utter joy and exhilaration, I received the call a few days later that informed me I had made it to the Grand Finals.
