A Thousand Suns

So today, we made our way to Kuantan, Pahang - I  joined my girlfriend Clarins, her brother Alexander, his girlfriend Joyce, and Clarins' Mom. It was certainly a trip to a laid-back place, and my very first trip to Kuantan, Pahang. We took a budget flight on Firefly - and it was my first trip on a budget airline too!

I felt the budget airline experience was pretty good. Budget airlines seem to me to be fuss-free compared to the regular airline - shorter wait to check-in, shorter wait to board, shorter time to take-off, shorter time to descend, shorter time to leave the plane, shorter in everything to be short! It was a nice experience; I didn't feel much difference in terms of leg-room, comfort or service. Certainly on a short flight, you don't feel any difference with regard to service as there hardly needs to be any.

The weather was pretty scorching over there as expected, I think hotter than Singapore. For the first day, we met some of Clarins's relatives and they were very nice, hospitable people. We also had some good food at the roadside hawker centres. Something tells me the good food is just beginning. At night, we even managed to catch some of Man Utd's game at Sunderland at Clarins's uncle's nice and relaxing place!
