Home And Dries

I really love this Napoli team. I think Ruud Gullit was right; they do prove a difficult match for Liverpool as their team is filled with small, nippy players; of the likes of Dries Mertens & Hirving Lozano upfront; Jose Callejon & Lorenzo Insigne down the wings; and Allan in central midfield.

But the thing I like about them is their possession football; they really do keep it well and like to maintain possession in the tightest of places... they are a wonderful, technical team that have a nice structure about their play.

And the thing that makes them tick I feel is the Belgian superstar Dries Mertens... surely one of the most skilful, creative strikers anywhere in the world... some of his play against Liverpool in the recent Champions League game was just wonderful... and I thought he was usurped as Man Of The Match only by the indomitable Kalidou Koulibaly; a superb central defender who is fearless and solid in the tackle.

I actually felt Liverpool kind of gave too much respect to Napoli in this game... which is kind of strange for them... they looked abit lethargic and conservative in this match; and even after going one down, they didn't seem fired-up enuf to get back into it... but that was not a penalty by Robertson on Callejon... Callejon had shown his propensity to win fouls throughout the game... and I think that was another one right there...

Really looking forward to seeing more of Napoli in this Champions League...
