Line Walker

I was quite astonished to hear the news that Dele Alli, Jesse Lingard and Kyle Walker were not selected for the latest England squad for the European Championship qualifiers. OK - Lingard I'm not surprised as he is right out-of-form at the moment; but Alli I felt was almost a cert due to his past reputation and Kyle Walker; to be honest I feel is a top right-back; even though some think he is defensively suspect. To me, his pace and power should make him a cert in the England starting eleven...

I feel the Chelsea trio of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori; is a bit early to call them in the England squad. No doubt they have huge potential... Abraham I feel is a very good centre-forward; a combination of size and skill that can hold the ball up and finish chances... Mount a decent midfielder who has room to blossom; and Tomori a good centre-half who is still pretty-raw... I just think they should do a bit more before being called up into the squad...

Happy to see Ben Chilwell in the squad... and his Leicester counterpart James Maddison I feel is a top prospect... he has shone in midfield for Brendan Rodgers' surprising high-flyers this season... I'm slightly surprised to see Fabian Delph in the squad to be honest... but I'm happy that he is recognised for a strong Everton start... Declan Rice of West Ham United is another top defensive midfielder that I think will be a key part for England in the years to come... another surprise to me is Callum Wilson of Bournemouth... I think he is a good striker but not international calibre in my opinion
